Where to Play Blackjack Online

It’s one of many common questions on the minds of newcomers to online casino gambling: Are the blackjack hands dealt from a shoe?

In the case of every software package to be run through third-party testing, the answer is yes. And the next logical question is, “Wouldn’t that make it extremely easy to count cards?”

Those who know the ins and outs of gambling understand that successful card counting in blackjack is one of the few ways to gain an edge on the casino. Because most casinos use multiple decks (typically as many as six), only those who are extremely skilled at counting cards can achieve this.

That makes Internet blackjack a very attractive alternative because it’s a breeze counting cards when you can write down every card that is turned–something that’s prohibited at terrestrial casinos for obvious reasons–and clean house, right?

ot quite. The second variable in determining the difficulty of counting cards is penetration (the number of cards dealt before the deck is reshuffled). This is because a counter cannot assess the probability of certain cards being dealt until the majority of cards have already been shown.

Internet casinos, unlike real-world casinos, have the option of shuffling the deck after every hand, and they do. Thus, there’s no way to take advantage of any card counting system because not enough cards are shown.

The only scenario in which card counting can be effective is a multi-player single-deck game in which everyone can see all the cards that are dealt. To my knowledge, no online casinos offer such a game.

Counting your way to a fortune playing blackjack is great thought, but back here in reality, it’s an impossibility. Stick with perfect strategy and your chances of coming out on top aren’t too bad. But, aside from cheating, you’ll never swing the odds in your favor.

Intertops Takes 15 Millionth Online Bet

According to a company press release, Intertops.com, a popular online daftar sekarang sportsbook, has accepted its 15 millionth online wager. The press release also says that Intertops.com was “the first company to ever accept a wager over the Internet and has a registered user base of over 480,000 customers from 183 different countries around the world.”

The press release appears to be Intertops’ response to a statement made by Morley Safer on CBS’ 60 Minutes that Intertops’ competitor World Sports Exchange was the “Internet’s most popular and profitable online gambling site.”

“Since becoming the first company to accept an online bet in 1996, we have raced to the forefront of this burgeoning industry,” said Simon Noble, executive director and co-founder of Intertops.com. “In 1995, when we first envisioned bringing gaming onto the Internet, we never in our wildest dreams imagined that we could eclipse the 15 million bet mark in just five years.”

The company says they took nearly 100,000 individual bets on Super Bowl XXXIV (January 30, 2000; St. Louis vs. Tennessee) and expect even more this year.

“We are experiencing a 30 to 40 percent growth rate every year in bets taken on the popular sporting events, and this year will be no exception. We expect to handle over 125,000 bets on this year’s Super Bowl and in excess of 350,000 on March Madness.”

Intertops.com gave away a luxury holiday to the customer that made the 15 millionth bet.

To reach the 15 million mark in less than five years, Intertops.com has averaged nearly one bet every 10 seconds since its inception and averages over 140,000 bets per week.
